This position has been deemed critical by the School of Humanities and Sciences Dean’s Office and is exempt from the hiring freeze. Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position based on the Stanford campus, with a minimum of 3 days per week on site. Budgeted Salary: The budgeted base salary range for this position is $37.08 to $41.00 per hour. The School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) is the foundation of a liberal arts education at Stanford. The school encompasses 24 departments and 25 interdisciplinary programs. H&S is home to fundamental and applied research, where free, open, and critical inquiry is pursued across disciplines. As the university’s largest school, H&S serves as the foundation of a Stanford undergraduate education no matter which discipline students pursue as a major. Graduate students work alongside world-renowned faculty to pursue and shape foundational research that leads to breakthroughs and discoveries that shed new light on the past, influence the present, and shape the future. Together, faculty and students in H&S engage in inspirational teaching, learning, and research every day. The H&S Human Resources Department provides HR support to over 800 staff, nearly 600 faculty, academic teaching staff, student and temporary workers in the School of Humanities and Sciences. We are seeking a Human Resources Administrator. The HR Administrator (HRA) will provide transactional HR systems support to departments and programs in the School of Humanities and Sciences and work as a part of a team of three, reporting into a Sr. Human Resources Business Partner. The HRA provides first point of contact for human resources transactions and serves as a resource to departments and programs on human resources policies, procedures, and practices. Primary responsibilities include supporting the entry of employee data into Sequoia (Oracle Fusion) by H&S departments and programs for all employee populations including faculty, academic staff, non-academic staff, bargaining unit, student, and temporary employees. Support includes providing guidance to departments on how to enter transactions, assist in resolving issues with pending transactions, submitting tickets to university departments as needed, and answering other questions as they arise. Additional key responsibilities include initiating and monitoring background checks, applicant tracking system management, and personnel file management. This position will also support disability, leaves and workers compensation claims. Ideal applicants will possess a team-based and customer-focused mindset and demonstrate a positive outlook on continuous process improvement efforts. It is critical that this position exhibit the abilities to practice sound judgment and decision-making, effective written & verbal communication, strong attention to detail, ability to juggle competing priorities, and respectful relationship management. This position must also exhibit a strong desire to continuously learn new and unfamiliar business topics, policies and procedures as they relate to human resources – the ability to translate this information into operational successes will be critical. Additional highly preferred experience includes prior experience working with disability and leave claims, worker’s compensation claims, and experience with Oracle Fusion or other HRIS platforms. This is a 100% FTE, continuing, non-exempt position. If you believe that this opportunity is a match for your knowledge, skills and abilities, we encourage you to apply. A resume and cover letter must be attached to your application. Thank you for considering employment opportunities with the School of Humanities and Sciences.
