Provide excellent customer service in a specialty cheese shop while maintaining product quality and supporting daily operations. Assist customers with product selection, food preparation, merchandising, inventory management, order processing, and food safety compliance. Job Responsibilities: -Assist customers with product selection, offer samples, and provide knowledge of cheeses, charcuterie, and specialty items. -Cut, wrap, weigh, and prepare products and in house items according to customer and shop needs. -Guide customers through cheese and charcuterie selections and promote new products, seasonal offerings, and pairings. -Receive deliveries, maintain inventory levels, rotate products using FIFO principles, and stock merchandise. -Maintain food safety standards, sanitation, and cleanliness throughout food preparation, storage, sales, and work areas. -Additional responsibilities will be disclosed during the online application process. Job Requirements: -Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. -Ability to operate cash registers, scales, slicers, shelving, and food handling equipment safely and efficiently. -Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, opening, closing, and mid day shifts. Opens as early as 7am and closes as late as 8pm. -Proficiency in basic computer skills including register systems and inventory management. -Previous experience in retail, customer service, or the food industry preferred, with preference for experience in cheese or specialty foods. -NYC Food Handler's Certification or ServSafe preferred but not required.
