We are an award-winning industry leader in building, owning, and operating highly efficient, cost-effective wholesale, colocation, and cloud data centers. Each of our national facilities meets or exceeds the highest industry standards in all operational categories of availability, security, connectivity, and physical resilience.

STACK offers the scale and geographic reach that rapidly growing hyperscale and enterprise companies need. The world runs on data. Data runs on STACK.

THE POSITION

We are seeking a Senior Workplace Platforms Engineer to join the Digital Workplace & Service Delivery organization within Global IT.

This senior individual contributor will design, engineer, and continuously improve the platforms, integrations, and operational processes supporting STACK’s corporate workforce, with a focus on IT service management, identity and access management, automation, employee lifecycle, Agile enablement, and service delivery.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with sound business judgment and can take an ambiguous problem from discovery and process design through implementation, automation, measurement, and operational adoption while working effectively across technology teams, business stakeholders, MSPs, and strategic partners. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Workplace Platform & ITSM Engineering

  • Drive the configuration, governance, integration, and improvement of Freshworks and Atlassian platforms, including Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable workflows, service experiences, automation, integrations, dashboards, and platform standards.
  • Mature ITIL-aligned incident, request, change request, problem, knowledge, asset, and configuration management, including workflow design, approvals, and controls.
  • Establish scalable taxonomy, data structures, and reporting standards to improve triage, analytics, and maintainability.
  • Enable Agile delivery through Jira boards, sprint workflows, dashboards, automation, and reporting.

Identity, Lifecycle & Automation

  • Engineer Microsoft Entra ID and related identity services across identity lifecycle, authentication, authorization, Conditional Access, groups, roles, and access controls.
  • Partner with Cyber Security to implement approved identity policies, architecture, and control requirements.
  • Design and refine Joiner, Mover, and Leaver processes, including onboarding, transfers, immediate terminations, access revocation, and legal holds.
  • Standardize SaaS requests, approvals, provisioning, and deprovisioning to strengthen access governance and operational scale.
  • Design and implement integrations and automation using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, APIs, Python, Power Platform, AI-enabled capabilities, or comparable technologies.

Service Delivery & Operational Enablement

  • Improve service boundaries, escalation models, operational handoffs, support readiness, and runbooks.
  • Use service trends and recurring issues to drive lasting engineering improvements, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Partner with workplace, endpoint, and service providers on employee lifecycle, device fulfillment, inventory visibility, and automation.
  • Support Microsoft 365 capabilities where they intersect with identity, automation, compliance, collaboration, and service delivery.

Delivery Governance, Data & Partnership

  • Partner with leadership and the PMO on roadmap priorities, technical discovery, requirements, dependencies, and implementation planning.
  • Plan and execute platform migrations, tool carve-outs, and integration transitions while protecting business continuity and operational readiness.
  • Use platform and service metrics to identify trends, prioritize improvements, and demonstrate measurable outcomes.
  • Coordinate with Security, Compliance, MSPs, vendors, and stakeholders on risks, controls, and production readiness.

Must-have Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in enterprise IT, workplace technology, IT service management, enterprise systems, or platform engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Atlassian Jira and Jira Service Management, including workflows, boards, automation, dashboards, and platform configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL practices and experience designing scalable service-management processes and workflows.
  • Meaningful experience with Microsoft Entra ID and IAM, including identity lifecycle, authentication, authorization, access controls, and Conditional Access.
  • Hands-on experience developing integrations or automation using technologies such as PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, APIs, Python, Power Platform, or comparable tools.
  • Experience conducting technical discovery, gathering requirements, mapping processes, and translating business needs into implementable solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery practices, including Scrum, Kanban, sprint-based delivery, backlog management, and prioritization.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to use operational data, influence decisions, and work effectively across technical teams and senior stakeholders.

THE DETAILS:

  • Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)
  • Compensation Range: $132,000-147,000
  • Benefits: Healthcare, Dental Care, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Paid Leave Programs

THIS MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF:
