SPU's Center for Professional Education (CPE), within the College of Humanities, Education, and the Arts, provides professional learning opportunities for educators, including add-on endorsement programs that help Washington State teachers expand their professional qualifications and instructional expertise.

What We Need Seattle Pacific University's Center for Professional Education is seeking experienced current or recently retired K–12 educators to serve as adjunct faculty field experience supervisors for teachers completing add-on endorsement programs.

  • Mentor candidates through reflection, feedback, and coaching to strengthen their instructional effectiveness.

Observation & Assessment

  • Observe candidates' classroom instruction and evaluate their application of teaching competencies.
  • Provide formative feedback and instructional guidance to support candidate growth and improvement.
  • Assess candidate performance against established course objectives and endorsement requirements.

Course Evaluation & Faculty Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate field experience assignments, reflections, and required documentation.
  • Determine candidate achievement of course learning outcomes and submit final grades and assessments.
  • Communicate with candidates and CPE staff regarding instructional progress and successful completion of field experience requirements.

What You Bring

  • A master's degree in education or a closely related field.

  • Strong knowledge of effective instructional practices, professional teaching standards, and assessment methods.
  • Ability to teach, mentor, and evaluate adult learners in a professional education setting.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Mission Alignment: A personal commitment to the Christian faith and affirmation of SPU's Statement of Faith; enthusiasm for supporting the University's Christian mission; and willingness to uphold the policies and lifestyle expectations of SPU's Christian community.
