Materials Testing Technician

We are hiring a Materials Testing Technician for a building products testing laboratory in Cottage Grove. If you enjoy hands-on technical work and take pride in verifying that structural materials meet strict safety and durability standards, you will find a great fit here. As a Materials Testing Technician, you will play a critical role in evaluating building components, running physical test procedures, and recording data to ensure products are safe and code-compliant before they hit the market.

Role Highlights

-$22-24/hr based on experience -Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM -Direct Hire -Work in an active laboratory environment -Opportunity to build technical testing skills

What You Will Do

-Prepare, cut, and mount building material samples according to standard testing guidelines -Operate mechanical test equipment to evaluate strength, durability, and fire resistance -Record precise test measurements and input data accurately into lab reporting systems -Calibrate and clean laboratory testing tools and fixtures regularly -Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace following all safety protocols

What You Will Bring

-High school diploma or equivalent -Previous experience in quality control, materials testing, or construction-related trades preferred -Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using basic hand and power tools -Basic math skills and familiarity with computers for data logging -Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or move throughout the lab during your shift
