SAW OPERATOR

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1st shift position available in our Sawing Department as a Production saw operator. We have positions open for a saw operator. As a saw operator your job responsibilities will include but not be limited to; operator forklift to retrieve material from rack, place material on the saw table, program saw to cut material down to customer specifications, use caliper and tape measure to ensure material is being cut the correct specifications, change saw blades as needed, and perform maintenance on band-saws. To be considered for employment, candidates need the following: PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OPERATING A BAND SAW OR SIMILAR TYPE EQUIPMENT PREFERRED Forklift experience Able to lift 50# Accurately measure using a tape measure. (There is a written test you must pass) Pass a pre-employment drug screen Mechanically inclined Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers. Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material. Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data. Clean work area. Mark identifying data on workpieces. Operate forklifts to deliver materials. Examine completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws. Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances.
