General Cleaner

Job Title: General Cleaner Location: Saline, Michigan Shift: 7am-3:30pm OR 11am-7:30pm Payrate: $16 Company: Spark Talent Acquisition Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented General Cleaner to support operations at our facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The General Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment throughout office areas, laboratories, common spaces, restrooms, and other facility areas. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and supporting daily facility operations. Essential Job Duties - Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, offices, and common areas. - Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces throughout the facility. - Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste according to facility procedures. - Clean windows, glass surfaces, doors, and partitions. - Replenish restroom and break room supplies, including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other consumables. - Maintain cleanliness of entrances, lobbies, hallways, and stairwells. - Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures. - Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or supply shortages to supervision. - Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, and other custodial tools safely and effectively. - Adhere to all OSHA safety requirements. - Support special cleaning projects and facility needs as assigned. Qualifications - High school diploma or GED preferred. - Previous commercial cleaning, custodial, housekeeping, or facility maintenance experience preferred but not required. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. - Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. - Reliable attendance and punctuality. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a research and development environment. Physical Requirements - Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods. - Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. - Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and handle cleaning chemicals. - Ability to work in various indoor facility environments. Work Environment - Research and development facility environment. - Exposure to cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment. - May require evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday work depending on facility needs.
