POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, transports specimens, reports, and supplies between various hospitals and medical facilities and the main laboratory.

CORE FUNCTIONS

• Provides quality service to clients through communication, picking up specimens, delivering lab results, and supplies.
• Operates company vehicle. Responsibilities include safety of vehicle, updated maintenance sheet, safe and defensive driving of vehicle.
• Maintains route sheet.
• Communicates with dispatch by radio, beeper, or telephone.
• Provides training to new drivers on all functions of job duties.
• Job requires computer skills to create and verify transport lists.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS

Job involves frequent communication in person, by radio and writing. Pickup and deliveries may weigh up to 25 pounds. Must be able to operate Company vehicle in a safe, defensive driving manner. Must be able to record time and other necessary information accurately. Job requires frequent communication by radio system, beeper or telephone.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to train new drivers on job functions.
• Ability to operate a computer.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires valid Arizona driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
