Step into a fulfilling role serving young learners within a close-knit educational setting as a School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant for the 2026–2027 academic year. Just under two hours from the New Mexico border, this position allows you to work onsite with Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) and 1st-grade students at a designated campus. Students present with a range of needs, including articulation, language, and pragmatic skills - without involvement in AAC cases - allowing you to focus your expertise on foundational communication development.

You’ll be well supported, with supervision available for Clinical Fellows (CFs), ensuring the professional guidance needed for continuous growth.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

  • Current license or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), Clinical Fellow Year (CFY), or Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through state and professional boards
  • Previous experience in school-based settings preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of techniques for working with preschool and early elementary students on articulation, language, and pragmatic objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills for partnering with special education teams, teachers, and families
  • Commitment to ethical practice and maintaining student confidentiality

Your Role Will Include:

  • Delivering direct therapy and support in small group or one-on-one settings for ECSE and 1st-grade students
  • Implementing and tracking IEP goals with a focus on articulation, language, and social communication
  • Coordinating with supervising SLP and participating in regular progress discussions
  • Documenting services, preparing session notes, and contributing to IEP meetings as needed
  • Engaging caregivers and staff in carryover strategies and communication support

Embrace the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of young students while furthering your clinical skills. If you’re passionate about early intervention and ready to embark on a rewarding contract assignment for the full school year, submit your application today to take the next step in your career!
