Pharmacist - Gilmer, TX

A leading 300+ bed hospital and Level III Trauma Center in the Gilmer, TX area is seeking two licensed Pharmacists for a rewarding contract opportunity. This role offers an excellent chance to apply your clinical expertise in a fast-paced inpatient setting while supporting quality patient care through effective medication management.

Schedule and Location:

• Gilmer, TX (near Longview)
• 4-day workweek, 10-hour day shifts
• Potential for a blocked schedule (e.g., 8 days on, 6 days off)
• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: 13 weeks or longer, with contract-to-hire consideration

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient medication therapy
• Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and clinical consultations
• Support emergency medicine and neonatal medication needs
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication management and tracking

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Texas Pharmacist license
• Minimum of 1 year current inpatient or clinical pharmacy experience
• Strong familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system highly preferred
• Clinical knowledge in pharmacokinetic dosing, neonatal medications, and emergency medicine protocols
• Ability to work effectively in a trauma center environment with interdisciplinary teams
