Here's What You Get to Do:
The role exists to support the field team: the Field Engineer works directly for the Foreman, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent, taking on the logistics, material, and record-keeping work that would otherwise pull them off the work itself.
Key Responsibilities
Field Support
- Work to the daily direction of the Foreman, Assistant Superintendent, or Superintendent.
- Keep the field team on the work. Take on the running, fetching, checking, and organizing that would otherwise pull a supervisor away from the crews.
- Distribute current documents. Collect current drawing sets and approved submittals from the Project Engineer and get them into the crews' hands; remove superseded sheets from the field.
- Assist with field layout and measurements under the direction of the Foreman or Assistant Superintendent.
- Support site logistics - access, temporary facilities, signage, barricades, and housekeeping coordination.
- Assist with resident and occupant notices on occupied properties as directed.
Material Control
- Receive and verify. Receive deliveries and verify quantity, product, and condition against the delivery ticket and purchase order. Reject or document damaged and incorrect material before the driver leaves.
- Check it against what was approved. Confirm the delivered product matches the approved submittal, not merely what was ordered. Where anything does not match, report it - do not decide it.
- Stage to the work face. Stage and distribute material by building, elevation, and scope ahead of the daily plan so crews never start the day waiting on it.
- Protect it. Verify all stored material is covered, secured, and elevated against weather and theft - checked at end of day, every day.
- Account for it. Submit signed delivery tickets same day; track surplus, returns, and shortages; escalate anything that will stop a crew to the Superintendent immediately.
- Maintain organized laydown and yard areas with safe stacking and clear egress, fire lanes, and access routes.
- Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and material lifts as certified and directed, including daily equipment inspections.
Records and Documentation
- Daily reports. Complete and submit the Procore Daily Log for assigned areas - manpower, equipment, work completed, deliveries, and delays.
- Photo documentation. Capture and upload progress photos to Procore per the company Photo SOP - minimum four photos per log entry, multiple angles.
- Quantity tracking. Count and report installed quantities by scope and area to support production and billing.
- Track punch list items through correction and closeout in Procore.
- Keep organized, current field records that another person could pick up and understand.
Safety and Learning the Job
- Follow all company and OSHA safety requirements; wear required PPE at all times on site.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately - a Field Engineer has the same obligation to speak up as anyone else on the job.
- Complete all required scope certifications for the project's active scopes.
- Attend morning huddles to understand the day's plan and where support will be needed.
- Learn a trade. Build hands-on competency in at least one core scope. This is the requirement for promotion to Foreman and the most valuable thing to take out of this role.
Procore Tool Responsibilities
Procore is the single source of truth for all project documentation. The tools below are a required part of this role, not optional.

• Demonstrated reliability and a willingness to do whatever the field team needs on a given day.
• Ability to receive, verify, stage, and protect construction material accurately, and to read a delivery ticket against a purchase order.

• Ability to use a smartphone or tablet to complete daily logs and upload photos.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.

• Exposure to exterior restoration scopes - stucco, framing, siding, waterproofing, or coatings.
• Trade competency in a core scope - this is the route to Foreman.
• Forklift, rigging, or signal person certification already held.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
