Hi, I'm Brayden, Founder at Sola, and I'll be leading the hiring for this role.
Sola is rebuilding homeowners insurance from the ground up. We own every layer of the business, we price risk with real weather data, and thousands of independent agents trust us to take care of their clients. As we grow beyond wind and hail into broader home coverage, every new policy brings an agent and a homeowner who expect fast, accurate, friendly service. That service is what keeps agents sending us business, and it is why we are hiring our first Associate Account Manager: someone who takes pride in getting the details right, learns our business from the inside, and grows into one of the people who own Sola's most important relationships.
I look forward to meeting you,
Brayden
TL;DR
- Role: Associate Account Manager
- Level: Early career, the first step on Sola's Account Management ladder
- Team: Account Management, reporting to Kyle Baker
- Key focus: Accurate, fast service on agent and policyholder accounts while you learn to own accounts yourself
- Location: West Midtown, Atlanta, GA
THE ROLE
We're hiring an Associate Account Manager to own the day-to-day service requests that keep our agents and policyholders happy, from updating a mailing address to uploading claims documents into our portal.
This is the job of making sure every request is handled correctly, quickly and kindly the first time. You'll be the person our Account Managers rely on to keep accounts clean and moving, and you'll learn how insurance actually works by doing it.
You're probably a year or two out of school and have spent that time in a high-volume seat, such as sales development, inside sales or customer service, where you hit daily targets and learned to stay organized under pressure. This is not a cold-calling quota role, and it is not a role where admin work is someone else's problem.
You should constantly be:
- Closing out requests accurately and on time
- Learning how policies, endorsements and claims work
- Spotting a frustrated agent or policyholder before they become an unhappy one
- Finding small ways to make our processes faster and cleaner
You'll work alongside Kyle and the rest of the Account Management team, with close contact with our claims and insurance teams, and you'll build toward owning a set of agent relationships of your own.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Agent and Policyholder service requests such as updates to payment method, mailing address, and other account changes
- Policy service requests such as mailing address updates and other basic account changes
- Basic claims portal uploads and follow-up on missing documents
- Keeping agents up to date on their production with Sola
- Timely, professional replies to agents and policyholders by phone and email
- Accurate, up-to-date account records in our systems
- Your own queue of open requests, from first touch to close
- Flagging service issues and retention risks to the Account Managers early
- Simple checklists and templates that make common requests faster
- Learning the Account Manager playbook so you're ready for the next step
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
MUST-HAVES
- A bachelor's degree and one to two years of experience in a high-volume sales or service role, such as an SDR, BDR, inside sales or customer service seat
- A strong work ethic and a track record of hitting daily or weekly targets you can talk about with real numbers
- Care for accuracy, so that repetitive admin work gets done right the first time
- Clear, warm and professional communication on the phone and in writing
- A natural instinct for building relationships and keeping customers happy
- Coachability and a real interest in growing into an Account Manager
- Based in Atlanta or open to relocating, and someone who enjoys building alongside the team in person. We work together from our West Midtown office five days a week because we've found that our best ideas, fastest experiments and closest working relationships come from being in the same room.
STRONG PLUS
- Coursework or a program in professional selling
- Ranking near the top of your team on activity or results
- Comfort with a CRM and tools like Google Workspace or Slack
NOT A FIT
- You're looking for a fully remote or hybrid role
- You see admin and service work as beneath you
- You want a pure commission sales role
- You're looking for a short stop before moving on
BENEFITS & PERKS
- Base salary of $60,000 to $75,000
- 100% paid medical, dental & vision insurance for you and your family
- Unlimited PTO
- Daily lunches and snacks in the office
- Regular team dinners, happy hours and other evenings out, because we genuinely enjoy spending time together beyond the workday
