The successful candidate will design and build intuitive user experiences for our SMX federal planning and analytics products built on SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), AWS and other platforms. This hands-on role spans user research, prototyping, and front-end development, working closely with SAC developers and federal budget subject matter experts. You will work in a supportive, team-oriented environment where knowledge sharing and mentorship are key to our collective success. This role is remote supporting a Washington, DC based customer and requires a federal clearance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct user research with customers and/or functional SMEs and translate findings into UI requirements.
  • Create wireframes, mock-ups, and high-fidelity prototypes in UX/UI Design tools (e.g. Figma), and maintain a reusable design system.
  • Build front-end components, including SAC analytic applications and custom widgets, using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Design data-dense planning interfaces such as input forms, data grids, approval workflows, and dashboards.
  • Ensure designs meet Section 508 accessibility standards and perform well at enterprise data volumes.
  • Support customer demos, usability testing, and defect resolution during implementation.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to obtain Secret clearance (i.e. U.S. Citizenship)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing UI/UX for enterprise web applications, especially financial planning applications.
  • Expert proficiency in Figma, including prototyping and design systems (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Sketch, Trello, etc).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for building UI components.
  • Portfolio demonstrating both design work and delivered front-end code.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with technical and functional teams.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Federal budgeting or financial planning experience (e.g., budget formulation, spend plans, budget execution)
  • SAP Analytics Cloud or custom widget development
  • Planning tool experience (e.g., OneStream, Anaplan, Oracle Hyperion)
  • Experience in SDLC and Agile practices including writing and executing test plans and cases
  • AG Grid or other enterprise data grid experience
