Original job description

The Analytics Engineer bridges business stakeholders, BI, and Data Engineering teams. This role focuses on designing scalable data solutions, building business-ready data models, and enabling trusted analytics across the organization.

The ideal candidate brings deep data expertise across multiple platforms, with strong experience in SQL, Snowflake, data modeling, and semantic layer design. While Tableau experience is required, the primary focus is on analytics engineering, data architecture, and partnering with the business to deliver scalable, enterprise-ready data solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Connect Business Needs to Data Solutions
  • Connect business needs the right data solution: decide where each change belongs (source, model, semantic layer, or report) and right-size the investment
  • Partner with stakeholders at all levels to scope requirements and develop BRDs
  • Partner with IT and Data Engineering, who owns ETL, ingestion, and source-system modeling. Own the ELT process that turns landed data into curated, business-ready models
  • Data Modeling & Analytics Enablement
  • Design and maintain layered data models (raw curated gold) with documented business definitions for BI and AI use
  • Uphold CoE standards (version control, code review, documentation) and standardize KPI definitions and data quality checks.
  • Own Tableau published data sources and provide tier-2/3 Tableau support
  • AI & Innovation
  • Use AI tools and connectors to work faster, while validating everything that reaches production

What You'll Bring

  • Strong business acumen and a track record of right-sizing solutions, including choosing not to build
  • Experience writing BRDs and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • 6+ years of advanced SQL development, including stored procedures and performance tuning, with skills that transfer across platforms
  • 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience (clustering, cost and performance tuning)
  • Dimensional modeling and layered/semantic-layer design
  • 4+ years of hands-on Tableau (Desktop, Prep, Server/Cloud), including LOD expressions, data source design, and performance tuning. Other BI tools don't substitute
  • Experience working within BI standards (CoE, code review, Git)
  • Everyday use of AI as a working partner for ideation and QC, with the judgment to verify its output

How You'll Standout

  • SQL Server to Snowflake migration experience
  • Experience reporting on replicated Salesforce data
  • Finance/FP&A, Sales Ops, or field marketing reporting background
  • Experience preparing semantic layers for AI agents
