Make a Difference for Climate and Equity - Join Slipstream as a Loan Coordinator!
Apply your attention to detail and financial processing expertise to make a meaningful impact in advancing an equitable, clean energy future. As a Loan Coordinator, you’ll be part of our Energy Finance Solutions (EFS) team, where we design and deliver affordable financing programs that help homeowners, small businesses, and contractors across the country pay for energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades. Since 1996, EFS has partnered with utilities, state agencies, municipalities, and financial institutions to remove cost as a barrier to clean energy.
Slipstream is a national, mission-driven organization that accelerates climate solutions - for everyone. We inspire new approaches to complex energy challenges and are optimistic, inclusive, and ambitious about our impact.
We are seeking a Loan Coordinator who will provide the day-to-day support that keeps our loan programs moving. You will review loan documents and program eligibility, validate and enter information in our loan origination system, respond to customer and contractor inquiries, and help us improve our processes, so that more households and businesses can access fast, affordable financing for clean energy projects.
The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of experience in a financial services processing environment, strong organization and attention to detail, and sound judgment when reviewing work for approval and quality assurance. Clear verbal and written communication, a customer-first mindset, and comfort implementing policies and procedures are essential. Experience with credit analysis, financial statement review, and eligibility determination is a plus.
We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous improvement. While we’re mostly remote, Slipstream can only hire in select states (outlined in the application). Our preferred candidate will be located in Madison, WI.
What You'll Do
- Be a trusted point of contact: Respond to consumer and contractor inquiries about our loan and subsidy programs, providing clear, customer-first answers and maintaining phone coverage for your assigned calls.
- Keep data accurate and visible: Enter and track information in our loan origination system, run reports, and review processing statuses so program administration stays timely and reliable.
- Protect quality and consistency: Review files for quality assurance, apply program eligibility requirements (including denials when criteria are not met), and confirm that processes meet program standards.
- Share what you know: Help document procedures and train others on systems, tools, and templates, and help assign work across department staff, cross-functional teams, and contractors.
- Contribute as a teammate: Participate actively in assigned workgroups and take on other duties as they arise, bringing the energy of our mission to the team.
Qualifications

- Communication: Solid verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-first approach to consumer and contractor inquiries.
Nice to Have
