Requisition ID: 79013

Description

We are seeking a Yield Enhancement Engineer to improve semiconductor yield through data analytics, structured problem solving, process integration, and automated optical inspection (AOI). The role will identify yield-loss mechanisms and work across Process, Equipment, Manufacturing, and Yield teams to implement sustainable improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain AOI recipes for defect detection and classification.
  • Investigate yield and defectivity issues through structured root-cause analysis, correlating process, equipment, AOI, metrology, and electrical test data.
  • Apply semiconductor process and integration knowledge to understand upstream/downstream interactions and identify yield-loss mechanisms.
  • Use statistical methods including SPC, Pareto, DOE, regression, and trend analysis to drive yield improvements.
  • Develop dashboards and analytical tools for yield, defectivity, and process monitoring.
  • Partner across engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve excursions and prevent recurrence.
  • Apply AI/ML, image analytics, and advanced analytics to improve AOI and yield analysis.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years relevant work experience.
  • If Master's then 3+ years relevant work experience.
  • If PhD then 0+ years relevant work experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor yield, process integration, process, or defect engineering preferred.
  • Good understanding of semiconductor processing and interactions across lithography, deposition, etch, clean, CMP, metallization, and inspection/metrology.
  • Strong data analysis and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, JMP, MATLAB, Databricks, or similar tools preferred.
  • Experience with AOI recipe development, wafer inspection, image analysis, or defect engineering strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
