Original job description

The world still has coverage blind spots. You could help eliminate them at Skylo.

Skylo has pioneered a standards-based approach to satellite connectivity. We connect smartphones and IoT devices directly to satellites. No special hardware, no entirely new networks. Just billions of existing devices, suddenly reachable anywhere on Earth. We're not building toward this future. We're already in it.

Our direct-to-device service is live on millions of activated devices across five continents, covering more than 72 million square kilometers, in partnership with leading satellite operators, mobile network operators, Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs worldwide. And we're just getting started.

At the heart of it all is Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN: a 3GPP standards-based, cloud-native platform that seamlessly bridges terrestrial and satellite networks. It's the infrastructure that makes true anywhere, anytime connectivity possible.

When you join Skylo, you'll work at the intersection of three markets reshaping how the world stays connected: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT. Enabling people outdoors and critical workflows in the world's most remote places.

This is a rare chance to work on technology that matters, at a company that's already proving it works

This role is located in Mountain View, CA where we are onsite 3 days a week.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT SKYLO

This role will own one of the broadest execution surfaces at Skylo. You'll own the primary execution bridge across Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Product, Product Support and Customer Success, on infrastructure that has to hold across satellite operators, carriers, chipset makers, and OEMs on five continents.

As Director of Program Management, you'll build and lead the team that turns that breadth into predictable delivery, organized as two pods: Technical Program Management as the integration layer, and Program Operations as the operating backbone. Your job is to make deployment at this scale predictable and customer-focused, and to build a team that sustains a culture of invention while operating a global network at scale.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

Lead a team across Technical Program Management and Program Operations that leaders across the company trust to deliver.
Own technical program execution across Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Product, Product Support, and Customer Success, so complex programs ship integrated rather than in pieces.
Manage inter-team dependencies, surface risk early, and clear blockers before they stall delivery.
Apply engineering judgment to trade-offs between speed, performance, and technical debt, and catch risks before they reach a customer.
Establish the processes, tooling, and delivery standards the rest of the org relies on to ship predictably as scope and headcount grow.
Run the operating rhythms that turn strategy into commitments the company hits: quarterly planning, mid-quarter reviews, retrospectives, and feedback loops.
Shorten the loop from field issue to engineering fix, building the feedback channels from customer operations into core engineering that harden the system with every release.
Give leadership and external partners a reliable view of status, trade-offs, and risks they can plan against.

YOU MIGHT THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU

Have built and scaled technical program management teams inside complex software, networking, or telecom environments.
Lead well without direct authority. You align multidisciplinary teams through influence, clarity, and credibility rather than reporting lines.
Are technically fluent in cloud-native architectures, network engineering, and global carrier operations.
Have partnered directly with enterprise customer TPM leadership to run joint programs.
Follow through on what you commit to, and communicate technical status honestly, including to executives and external partners.
Are deeply curious and quick to learn. You dig into unfamiliar domains, ask the questions others skip, and welcome feedback and mentorship.
Do your best work in a fast-paced, high-growth company. You're comfortable building a structure where little exists yet, then reshaping it as the company scales.

WHAT WE OFFER

With employees working across three continents, Skylo is proud to be an equal opportunity employer dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce. Our worldwide culture encourages a flexible approach to work, and we offer an attractive range of benefits:

Competitive compensation packages including a stock option-based equity program
Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plan
Monthly allowances for wellness and education reimbursement
A generous time-off policy, holidays, and the opportunity to temporarily work abroad
A once-in-a-career opportunity to operate the world's first commercial, live direct-to-device satellite network
Access to a world-class team across software, hardware, chipsets, telecom, satellite, and network virtualization

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The compensation range for this position is: $215,00 - $230,000. This range reflects the low and high end of the range Skylo reasonably and generally expects to pay the hired candidate in this role.

EEO STATEMENT

Skylo is an equal-opportunity employer and we celebrate diversity. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, parent or caregiver status, political affiliation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
