Original job description

About Us

Skylarq.ai is a cutting-edge application-layer AI company founded by Y Combinator alumni and serial entrepreneurs from Harvard, McKinsey, Wish.com, Broadcom, and LinkedIn. Backed by a seven-figure round from top Silicon Valley VCs, our team has scaled startups to over $30M raised and built AI infrastructure for a global IPO. Now, we're creating advanced conversational AI agents on WhatsApp to transform real-time business workflows, and building the distributed data platform that discovers and enriches millions of company & people records to power those agents. Role Summary This is more than a coding role - you’ll architect, build, and ship high-impact AI products alongside the founding team. Expect full ownership, rapid growth, and the chance to help shape a category-defining company from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Shape the architecture and technical direction of a fast-moving, application-layer platform.
Build product features that measurably improve go-to-market effectiveness for our customers.
Ship in tight cycles; measure outcomes and continuously raise the bar on reliability, data quality, and UX.
Act like an owner-learn fast, unblock yourself, and set a high standard for speed, quality, and teamwork.
Work closely with our research and product teams to bring language, retrieval, and embedding models into production with strong safety and observability.

Requirements

2+ years building production full-stack applications.
Strong Python skills; proficiency with FastAPI, Django, or Flask for RESTful and async APIs.
Hands-on experience with React/Next.js and modern TypeScript/JavaScript.
Familiarity with distributed systems (Celery, Kafka, PostgreSQL) and data pipelines(Airflow, Spark/Flink).
Comfortable with AWS (or similar), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
Proven ability to deliver customer-impacting features quickly in a startup environment.

Bonus Points

Experience orchestrating LLMs with LangChain or OpenAI function calling (multi-agent systems a plus).
Background in information retrieval, vector search, or embeddings.
Exposure to real-time streaming frameworks (Kafka, Kinesis).
Previous startup or founding team experience.
Notable open-source contributions or standout personal projects

What You Get

Collaborate with top-tier founders and operators (YC alumni, Harvard, McKinsey, LinkedIn, etc.)
High-trust, high-autonomy culture with the freedom to innovate
Seven-figure funding runway to support bold experimentation
Competitive full-time salary (USD), benchmarked against leading startups
Remote-friendly and flexible - we hire the best talent, wherever you are
Fast track to leadership, deep learning, and a standout résumé

Location Remote-friendly and flexible - we optimize for the best talent, wherever you are. Final Note If you want an ordinary job, this isn’t for you. If you want to build, learn fast, and help shape a meaningful AI company - we’d love to meet you.
