Original job description

About SiTime

SiTime is the Precision Timing company.

Timing is the heartbeat of all electronics, ensuring performance, resilience and scalability. For decades, quartz devices, non-silicon technology, have kept systems in sync, but they struggle in harsher, more demanding environments. MEMS-based Precision Timing delivers greater accuracy, smaller size and resilience. Today, MEMS timing powers over 400 applications, including high-growth ones in AI datacenters, automated driving, industrial and humanoid robots, wearables and IoT.

Our semiconductor MEMS programmable solutions offer a rich feature set that enables customers to differentiate their products with higher performance, smaller size, lower power, and better reliability. With more than 4 billion devices shipped, SiTime is changing the timing industry. For more information, visit: www.sitime.com.

Job Summary

The Test Architect / Test Development Engineer is responsible for the development and deployment of next-generation semiconductor test solutions, technologies, and methodologies for SiTime’s precision timing products. We are looking for a highly motivated individual interested in working across Design Verification (DV), Design for Test (DFT), Product Engineering, and production ATE to accelerate silicon bring-up and improve the efficiency and automation of test development. Depending on experience, this role may focus on implementing new test and verification technologies or take broader responsibility for defining test architectures and technical roadmaps. We are interested in candidates with backgrounds in Design Verification, semiconductor test, mixed-signal validation, or ATE development.

We value diverse experiences, perspectives, and career paths, and welcome candidates who are excited to contribute to our mission.

Responsibilities:

Develop and deploy next-generation ATE, Design-to-Test, and pre-silicon test methodologies
Work with Design and DV teams to define Design for Test (DFT) features and improve device testability
Develop test and verification environments integrating simulation, DV, DFT, and ATE
Develop reusable test methods, test IP, software tools, and automation infrastructure
Develop and deploy AI-assisted engineering workflows for test development, code generation, debug, data analysis, documentation, and test automation
Evaluate new test platforms, instrumentation, software frameworks, and measurement technologies
Partner with Design, DV, DFT, Systems, Product, and Test Engineering on strategic NPI projects
Support yield enhancement, test-time reduction, and continuous improvement of production test solution

It is not necessary to meet all job requirements to be a qualified candidate for the position.

Qualifications & Requirements:

BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
Minimum 2-5 years of related work experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas: Design Verification, semiconductor test, ATE development, product engineering, DFT, or mixed-signal validation
Knowledge of analog and mixed-signal electronics and strong fundamental understanding of electrical measurement and debug
Experience with simulation, laboratory measurement, silicon characterization, or semiconductor test
Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and silicon interactions
Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and perform job responsibilities in a professional business environment.

Desired Characteristics & Attributes:

High level of self-motivation and drive to make an impact
Strong interest in working across traditional boundaries between Design, DV, DFT, Test, and Product Engineering
Strong interest in being hands-on with simulation, software, ATE, and laboratory hardware
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Interest in developing new methodologies and improving how semiconductor products move from design through production
Ability to contribute effectively as an individual engineer, with opportunities for broader technical ownership based on experience

Compensation:

At SiTime, we believe great work deserves great rewards. We offer a comprehensive and highly competitive compensation package designed to attract top talent.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a quarterly bonus tied to the achievement of innovation goals - reflecting our commitment to recognizing meaningful impact. We also offer equity grants, providing a meaningful opportunity to share in the company’s future growth and success.

Benefits offered: 401k plan, health and wellness that includes medical, dental, vision, life, parental leave, legal services, and time off plans.

SiTime is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We treat each person fairly and we do not tolerate discrimination or harassment against anyone on the basis of any protected characteristics, including race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, pregnancy, political affiliation, protected veteran status, protected genetic information, or marital status or other characteristics protected by law.
