Accounting Generalist

Accounting Generalist Reports To: Controller Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000 Position Summary Simon Companies is seeking highly skilled and experienced individuals to support and oversee key accounting functions across the organization. This position is intended for a true accounting professional with substantial hands-on expertise in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the company's financial objectives. Essential Responsibilities - Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities. - Maintain the General Ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records. - Perform account and bank reconciliations. - Support month-end and year-end closing processes. - Prepare financial reports and assist management with financial analysis. - Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls. - Calculate and verify tax-related obligations. - Support audits and provide required financial documentation. - Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency. - Collaborate effectively with leadership and other departments. Qualifications - Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience. - Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close. - Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel. - Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - High level of integrity, professionalism, and diligence. - Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. - Experienced in QuickBooks, McCloud and Transportation/Trucking Industry Prefer Preferred Attributes - Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. - Commitment to accuracy, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. - Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization. - Demonstrated alignment with the values and culture of Simon Companies. ** Disclaimer** This job description summarizes the position's primary duties and responsibilities and is not exhaustive.
