The Security Systems Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects from initial site surveys and system design through installation, testing, commissioning, and final client handoff, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct site surveys to assess infrastructure requirements, equipment placement, and installation conditions.
Develop project scopes, installation schedules, labor requirements, and equipment needs.
Coordinate project activities with internal technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
Monitor project budgets, timelines, labor utilization, and overall performance.
Identify potential project delays, technical challenges, and resource constraints, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Maintain accurate project documentation, progress reports, and completion records.
Ensure all installations meet approved project specifications and company standards.

Security System Design and Technical Expertise

Design and coordinate installation of IP video surveillance systems, electronic access control, intrusion detection, and integrated security solutions.
Review security drawings, camera placement, access control configurations, and network architecture.
Demonstrate working knowledge of Digital Watchdog (DW Spectrum), DMP, and comparable commercial security platforms.
Understand network video recorders, video management systems, IP cameras, and recording infrastructure.
Evaluate system integration requirements involving video surveillance, access control, alarm systems, and networking.
Provide technical guidance to installation teams regarding equipment selection, system configuration, and troubleshooting.
Coordinate system programming, testing, and commissioning with designated technical personnel.

Network Infrastructure and Low-Voltage Systems

Oversee structured cabling installations, including Cat6, fiber optics, and associated low-voltage infrastructure.
Understand wired and wireless network design, managed switches, PoE, VLANs, and IP addressing.
Review network equipment requirements and connectivity between cameras, controllers, servers, and network devices.
Coordinate MDF and IDF infrastructure, network racks, patch panels, and equipment installations.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues affecting security system performance.
Ensure installation practices follow applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and industry standards.

Team Leadership and Field Coordination

Coordinate daily project activities with installation technicians, team leads, and subcontractors.
Establish clear expectations regarding installation quality, productivity, and project deadlines.
Conduct jobsite walkthroughs to verify installation progress and workmanship.
Provide technical guidance and support to field personnel.
Identify employee training needs and assist with technical development.
Promote accountability, teamwork, and consistent adherence to company procedures.
Escalate staffing, scheduling, and technical concerns to the Director of Technology when appropriate.

Quality Control, Testing, and Client Handoff

Perform quality control inspections throughout the installation process.
Verify that installed equipment matches approved drawings and project requirements.
Ensure cameras, access control devices, network equipment, and associated systems have been properly tested.
Coordinate resolution of outstanding installation deficiencies before project completion.
Verify that system documentation, configurations, and applicable credentials are properly organized.
Coordinate final system demonstrations, client training, and project handoff.
Ensure projects are delivered in a professional, functional, and client-ready condition.

Client Communication and Operational Coordination

Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned projects.
Maintain professional communication with customers, general contractors, vendors, and internal departments.
Provide timely project status updates, including scheduling changes, outstanding items, and completion milestones.
Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Technology leadership to clarify project requirements.
Assist in evaluating change orders, additional scope requests, and project modifications.
Support the development and improvement of project management procedures and operational workflows.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience managing security system, telecommunications, network infrastructure, or low-voltage installation projects.

Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and accountability.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Project Delivery: Completion of assigned projects according to approved schedules and scope.
Budget Management: Effective control of project labor, materials, and installation expenses.
Installation Quality: Compliance with company installation standards and successful quality control inspections.
Technical Accuracy: Proper coordination of system design, equipment installation, configuration, and testing.
Project Documentation: Accurate and timely maintenance of project records and completion documentation.
Team Coordination: Effective communication, resource planning, and accountability among assigned installation personnel.
Client Satisfaction: Professional communication, timely resolution of concerns, and successful project handoffs.

Position Authority and Accountability The Security Systems Project Manager reports directly to the Director of Technology and is accountable for the coordination and execution of assigned installation projects.

This position works closely with installation personnel, subcontractors, technical specialists, Sales, and Operations to ensure efficient project delivery.

The Project Manager is expected to demonstrate independent judgment in day-to-day project coordination while communicating major scope changes, budget concerns, scheduling conflicts, and technical risks to Technology Division leadership.

Ideal Candidate Profile The successful candidate will combine practical field experience with strong project management capabilities. They should be equally comfortable conducting a technical site survey, reviewing security system designs, coordinating installation teams, troubleshooting network infrastructure, and communicating project expectations to clients.

Silver Star Protection Group is seeking a technically knowledgeable, organized, and accountable professional who can manage complex security installation projects while supporting the continued growth, consistency, and operational efficiency of the Technology Division.
