Req ID: 527522
Here at Siemens, we take pride in enabling sustainable progress through technology. We do this through empowering customers by combining the real and digital worlds. Improving how we live, work, and move today and for the next generation! We know that the only way a business thrive is if our people are thriving. That's why we always put our people first. Our global, diverse team would be happy to support you and challenge you to grow in new ways. Who knows where our shared journey will take you?
Transform the everyday with us!
The Lean Transformation Manager will be the driving force in the journey to operational excellence within Electrical Products (EP) at our Electrical Distribution Equipment manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, TX. This role is crucial in developing a vision and executing a strategic plan that elevates the factory's operations to a future state defined by high performance, lean efficiency, and continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the plant manager and leading an 11-person Lean team across a workforce of more than 1,200 employees, you will create a comprehensive roadmap for change and foster a culture of innovation and excellence throughout the organization, raising the bar rather than maintaining the status quo. This is an on-site role, working closely with teams on the production floor.
You will make an impact by:
- Leading the deployment of lean tools and methodologies such as 6S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping across all departments, including mechanical and electrical assembly, fabrication, material delivery, and robotic operations, to drive measurable gains in throughput and quality.
- Building and leading a high-performing 11-person lean transformation team, providing direction, mentorship, and development so the team stays aligned with transformation objectives and builds succession capability.
- Optimizing material flow and layout through flow design, material feeding, cycle time analysis, time studies, line balancing, and capacity modeling, advancing the plant's transition from stationary builds toward continuous one-piece flow.
- Facilitating Lean workshops, visual management, and Lean Thinker training for hourly employees, keeping the Lean team focused on improving production systems rather than becoming permanently absorbed in daily production work.
- Working alongside data analytics and automation teams to evaluate new technologies, applying a fundamentals-first approach that simplifies and stabilizes processes before introducing automation, robotics, or digitalization.
- Integrating lean principles into the factory's safety programs, ensuring every process improvement also enhances workplace safety.
You'll win us over by having the followingqualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Earned a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- Accumulated a minimum of 10 years of experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or a related role within a large-scale manufacturing environment.
- Led lean transformation initiatives in a complex manufacturing setting, preferably in electrical or mechanical assembly, delivering results through completed implementation rather than recommendations alone.
- Implemented production-line improvements hands-on, including flow design, material feeding, cycle time reduction, time studies, line balancing, and factory layout.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of lean tools and methodologies, paired with social competence and the ability to influence culture and workplace habits.
- Possess a strong understanding of process fundamentals and stabilization, along with energy, creativity, persistence, and the ability to engage and develop people.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Gained experience in the electrical distribution equipment manufacturing industry.
- Helped establish or launch a production line in automotive manufacturing, rather than operating only within an established Lean system.
- Helped implement and run a new production lines in a high-volume environment.
- Completed Lean Six Sigma certification from a recognized institution, with Black Belt certification preferred.
- Facilitated workshops and delivered Lean training to hourly and salaried employees.
- Familiarity with robotics and automation in manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Completed consulting engagements through full implementation and ownership of results.
- Earned a Master's degree in engineering, business administration (MBA), or a related field.
- A combination of education and directly related work experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.
