Siemens Industry - Smart Infrastructure is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead EHS strategy, compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations in Roebuck and Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Supporting approximately 900 employees across both locations, this role provides EHS leadership for a diverse manufacturing environment that includes fabrication, paint, epoxy, plating, wastewater treatment, assembly, warehousing, and material-handling operations.

The EHS Manager will lead the site EHS organization and partner closely with plant leadership, operations, engineering, maintenance, quality, supply chain, People & Organization, and Siemens EHS resources to protect our people and environment, manage operational risk, maintain regulatory and management-system compliance, and advance Siemens' Beyond Zero Harm approach.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Leading the EHS strategy and annual improvement roadmap across the Roebuck and Spartanburg manufacturing sites.
  • Serving as a key EHS partner to plant leadership and integrating EHS considerations into operational decisions, capital projects, process changes, equipment installations, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing a multi-site EHS organization consisting of a Safety Supervisor, three Safety Technicians, Safety Group Leader, Environmental Supervisor, and Environmental Technician.
  • Establishing consistent EHS processes, expectations, and accountability across both manufacturing locations.
  • Maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, occupational health, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Maintaining and continuously improving the sites' environmental and occupational health and safety management systems in alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Providing governance and technical leadership for critical safety programs, including risk assessment, hazardous energy control/LOTO, machine guarding, electrical safety, powered industrial trucks, cranes and lifting equipment, contractor safety, emergency response, PPE, and hazardous materials.
  • Leading incident and near-miss investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, regulatory recordkeeping, and prevention of recurring events.
  • Directing industrial hygiene and occupational health activities, including ergonomic assessments, air monitoring, noise evaluations, chemical exposure controls, and other workplace exposure assessments.
  • Providing environmental leadership and oversight for hazardous and non-hazardous waste, wastewater and industrial pretreatment, stormwater, spill prevention, air emissions, chemical management, and applicable environmental permits.
  • Leading and supporting internal, external, corporate, regulatory, and management-system audits and ensuring timely and effective closure of findings.
  • Partnering with operations, engineering, maintenance, and training resources to strengthen hazard recognition, technical controls, EHS competency, and employee engagement.
  • Developing meaningful leading and lagging EHS indicators and using data and trends to identify risk, establish priorities, and communicate performance to leadership.
  • Building a culture where leaders and employees actively participate in identifying hazards, managing risk, reporting concerns, learning from events, and improving EHS performance.
  • Advancing Siemens' Beyond Zero Harm approach and collaborating across the broader OneEHS organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated people-leadership experience, including developing technical professionals, establishing priorities, managing performance, and building organizational capability.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable occupational safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Experience implementing, maintaining, or auditing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with incident investigation, root-cause analysis, corrective-action management, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, risk assessment, contractor safety, and emergency preparedness.
  • Experience supporting complex manufacturing operations with significant safety and environmental considerations.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, problem-solving, project-management, written-communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, manufacturing leaders, senior leadership, regulatory agencies, and other business partners.
  • Ability to work effectively across both South Carolina manufacturing locations and maintain a visible presence within production and operational areas.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and experience working with EHS information, reporting, data, and performance-management systems.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM, or another relevant EHS credential.
  • ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 auditor experience or certification.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing processes such as fabrication, painting/coating, epoxy, plating, industrial wastewater treatment, assembly, warehousing, and material handling.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, construction, facility expansion, production ramp-up, equipment relocation, or significant manufacturing change.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate EHS risks and performance data into practical business recommendations and sustainable operational improvements.
