Position Overview:
Want to drive the financial success of a $1.5 billion project portfolio? Join Siemens Mobility in Lexington, NC as a Commercial Project Manager and partner with the CPM Director to power the commercial and financial side of large-scale projects, from sales handover to closeout!
You will own the numbers that drive results, from forecasting and cost control to cash flow and risk management, while teaming up with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, Legal, and Finance. If you are proactive, analytical, and thrive on fast-moving projects, this is your chance to make a big impact!
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Support the CPM Director in the commercial and financial management of a project portfolio valued at approximately $1.5 billion, helping keep projects financially healthy and on target.
- Monitor and analyze project costs, revenues, profitability, and cash flow, and prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and financial reports that give leadership accurate, transparent insight into project performance.
- Support contract administration, change order management, claims, and customer and supplier commercial negotiations as delegated by the CPM Director, protecting project margins and strengthening commercial outcomes.
- Proactively identify financial risks, opportunities, and process improvements; contribute to risk and opportunity management and track mitigation and corrective action plans to protect and improve project results.
- Take ownership of assigned project KPIs and commercial performance targets, coordinating closely with project stakeholders to achieve financial targets and project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, governance requirements, and audit standards, keeping projects audit-ready and risk-aware.
- Support and drive change management initiatives by assessing and communicating financial impacts, so changes are implemented effectively across project stakeholders.
- Promote continuous improvement and best practices in commercial project management, reporting, forecasting, and financial governance to raise efficiency and consistency across projects.
This posting outlines the primary responsibilities of the role, but is not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned in alignment with business needs.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- Bachelor's degree with a major in Finance, Economics, Business or Accounting strongly preferred,
- 3+ years of successful Finance/Commercial Project Management experience including financial planning, accounting, and finance,
- Advanced analytical abilities, financial modeling, strong Microsoft Excel, knowledge of ERP systems, and strong business modeling skills,
- Excellently demonstrated verbal and written communication skills while interacting at all levels of the organization,
- Experience with SAP would be a plus along with Siemens CPM certification (Level-C).
Candidates should be willing to work in non-climate-controlled environments and inclement weather if required or if applicable.
Purpose is the reason a company exists. It's not about making money or selling products - it's the deeper "why" behind everything we do. It answers the question: What problem are we solving? What positive change are we creating?
For Siemens, our purpose has been clear for over 175 years: We create technology to transform the everyday, for everyone.
The world needs technologies that work. Technologies that matter. Technologies that solve today's challenges and help shape a better tomorrow. And that's exactly what we build. By bringing together the real world (factories, buildings, power grids, trains) with the digital world (software, data, AI, digital twins), we help our customers become more competitive, resilient, and sustainable.
Our technology is everywhere - in trains and transportation, we help move people faster, safer, and more sustainably.
