Original job description
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Production Scheduling Professional, you will translate customer demand and production priorities into executable schedules for the manufacturing lines. You will use SAP and Manufacutiong Execution System to sequence, schedule, release, and monitor production orders while evaluating material availability and capacity constraints. Throughout the day, you will collaborate with Procurement to address material shortages and with Production Management to monitor schedule execution, resolve delays, and adjust priorities. Your work will establish a stable and visible production plan that supports on-time delivery, efficient resource utilization, and continued factory growth.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop, sequence, and maintain executable production schedules based on customer priorities, material availability, production capacity, manufacturing lead times, and operational constraints.
- Schedule, release, and monitor production orders in SFM (our manufacturing execution system), ensuring order dates, quantities, priorities, and system status remain accurate and aligned with the approved plan.
- Review material availability and work directly with Procurement, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to identify shortages, confirm recovery dates, expedite critical components, and protect the production schedule.
- Partner with Production Management to monitor daily execution, communicate priorities, evaluate schedule adherence, and resolve delays, backlogs, capacity constraints, or other production interruptions.
- Replan and resequence orders when required, clearly communicating schedule changes, risks, priorities, and potential effects on customer commitments to key stakeholders.
- Monitor and improve planning performance through indicators such as schedule attainment, plan stability, order aging, past-due orders, material readiness, and production backlog.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred; an associate degree with relevant production-planning or manufacturing experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production scheduling, production planning, material planning, manufacturing operations, supply chain, or a related environment.
- Hands-on SAP ERP knowledge is required, including the ability to review material requirements and availability, manage changes to production orders as per engineering updates, monitor order status, investigate planning exceptions, and track production execution.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to evaluate material and capacity constraints, manage competing priorities, make timely scheduling decisions, and maintain accurate planning data.
- Effective cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate actions among Production, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, Customer Service, and other supporting functions.
