Position: Assistant Bus Mechanic
Summary:
Assist with maintaining a safe and economical fleet of vehicles in a cost effective and efficient manner within a SRESD-SATA garage partnership.
Requirements:
- Must obtain a CDL with proper endorsement to drive a school bus, training is available through our transportation department.
- 2-3 yrs experience in heavy duty truck repair with state certification.
Supervision Received:
Duties are performed under the general direction and evaluation of the SRESD Lead Mechanic and Transportation Supervisor. The SRESD Transportation Supervisor and SATA Executive Director will provide guidance on issues related to their respective vehicles. Days and Hours of Work Work year is 52 weeks. Normal days of work are Monday through Friday and 40 hours per week and the schedule is to be flexible to meet the needs of the job responsibilities including coverage in times of inclement weather. Vacation time is to be scheduled with and approved by the Transportation Supervisor to always ensure coverage of the garage operations.
