Original job description

CRO Specialist

Location: Remote (US-based) | Type: Full-time, salaried

Salary: $90,000 to $120,000 per year based on experience | Travel: Occasional client visits

About Shero Commerce

Shero Commerce is an ecommerce agency that helps brands grow on Shopify through strategy, design, development, and digital marketing. Our marketing team covers PPC, SEO, CRO, organic social, and email, and works side by side with our design and development teams on every client account.

About the role

Shero is hiring a full-time CRO Specialist to own conversion rate optimization across our Shopify client portfolio. This is a hands-on role for someone who reads data quickly, spots the story behind the numbers, and turns it into clear hypotheses, wireframes, and tests that move revenue.

You will audit stores, find where shoppers drop off and why, sketch the fix, build optimization roadmasp and lead tests and evidence-led improvements. You will be the connective tissue between marketing, design, and development, and we need you contributing from your first week.

What you will do

Audit and diagnose.

Combine GA4, Shopify analytics, heatmaps, scroll maps, and session recordings into one clear view of the funnel
Identify friction, drop-off points, and missed revenue, and quantify the opportunity behind each finding
Run full CRO audits on Shopify stores across the buying journey, including product discovery, product pages, cart, and checkout.

Turn data into hypotheses.

Write sharp, testable hypotheses grounded in quantitative and qualitative evidence
Prioritize ideas using a consistent framework (such as ICE or PIE) based on impact, confidence, and effort
Translate findings into plain language recommendations clients and internal teams can act on

Wireframe the solution.

Produce high-level wireframes and annotated concepts that show what to change and why
Hand off clear briefs to designers and developers so tests move from idea to launch without rework

Build and run the roadmap.

•

Own a prioritized CRO roadmap for each client. Assess traffic and data quality to determine when A/B testing is viable; for lower-traffic stores, use customer research and other evidence to recommend improvements, and clearly distinguish tested results from directional findings.
Set up, QA, and launch A/B and multivariate tests across different testing platforms
Define primary, secondary and guardrail metrics, sample size, and test duration before launch.
Analyze results with statistical rigor, document learnings, and feed them into the next round of tests

Partner across teams.

Work with digital marketing specialists to align landing pages and offers with traffic sources
Collaborate with design, solutions, and development to turn recommendations into feasible, effective customer experiences.
Identify tracking and measurement issues that could affect CRO decisions, and work with the Marketing Technology Engineer to validate data, resolve issues, and ensure reliable test results.
Present findings and test results to clients and leadership in a clear, confident way, including occasional on-site client visits
Contribute to various team meetings and share wins and learnings across all Shero teams

Grow the CRO practice

This is initially a hands-on specialist role. As our CRO client base and retainer hours grow, you’ll have opportunities to develop your commercial and leadership skills and help shape the future of the practice.

Identify opportunities to expand CRO support for existing clients and introduce the service to clients who don’t currently use it.
Partner with account and sales teams to develop recommendations and support proposals, with guidance from the wider team.
As demand grows, help develop CRO processes and share your knowledge with future team members, with the potential to take on greater team leadership over time.

What you bring

Five or more years of ecommerce experience, preferably at an agency, with at least three years focused on CRO
Ecommerce depth matters more than years in CRO alone: candidates who moved into CRO from design, marketing, or solutions roles are encouraged to apply
Shopify experience: knowledge of Shopify themes, apps, checkout, and analytics
Strong GA4 skills, including funnel exploration, segments, events, and ecommerce reporting
Proven experience with heatmapping and session recording tools such as Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, or Lucky Orange
Experience setting up and running tests on more than one testing platform
A track record of audits that led to tests, and tests that led to measurable revenue gains
Ability to create clear wireframes in Figma or a similar tool
Solid understanding of test statistics: significance, sample size, and when to call a test
Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
Comfort using AI tools such as Claude to speed up analysis, audits, and test documentation
Ability to work remotely with consistent overlap with US business hours, where most Shero clients are based

Nice to have

Experience with Google Tag Manager and event tracking setup
Background in UX research, user testing, or survey tools
Experience with pricing, offer, and shipping threshold tests
Familiarity with digital marketing channels and how these affect onsite conversion

Who thrives in this role

Fast. You move from data to insight to action quickly, without waiting for perfect information.
Resourceful. You find the answer, the workaround, or the right person, and you do not need hand-holding to get started.
Curious. You ask why shoppers behave the way they do, and you love proving or disproving a hunch.
Collaborative. You make marketers, designers, and developers better at their jobs.
Accountable. You tie your work to revenue, and you own the results, good or bad.

What We Offer

We believe that taking care of our team is just as important as taking care of our clients. Here is what you can expect when you join Shero:

Competitive compensation and benefits, including:
Paid time off, sick days, flex time, and paid holidays, with options for floating or religious holidays
Medical and dental benefits upon eligibility
Eligibility for our 401(k) plan after one year of employment, with an employer match up to 3%, because we are invested in your future, not just your present
A remote-first company. Our processes, culture, and communication are built to make remote work feel connected and effective.
Room to grow, with opportunities for professional growth and development
Varied, meaningful work with a diverse portfolio of clients
A collaborative, supportive team culture

Our Core Values

At Shero, our culture is built on:

Collaboration and Innovation: We foster an environment where great ideas thrive.
Professional Vulnerability and Healthy Conflict: We grow by being open, honest, and constructive.
Positivity and a Can-Do Spirit: We stay solution-focused and keep moving forward.
Continuous Growth: We are always learning and evolving.

Additional duties may be assigned as the role and business needs evolve.

Does this sound like you? If you’re excited about the work and want to grow with a team that values you as a whole person, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today

Diversity and Equal Opportunity Statement

At Shero, we believe that diverse teams build better work, and that an inclusive workplace is not just a policy; it is a practice.

Shero is an at-will, equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, cultures, life experiences, abilities, and identities. True inclusion goes far beyond a statement in a handbook. It takes an intentional, day-to-day commitment in how we hire, lead, communicate, and grow together.

We are dedicated to maintaining a workplace free from discrimination and harassment in all forms. Every member of our team deserves to feel respected, valued, and empowered to do their best work.

Shero does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.

We are continuously working to build a culture where everyone belongs, not just on paper, but in practice.
