Original job description

Sharetec is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our API Development team! Behind every loan payment, transfer, and balance check at a credit union, a set of systems has to talk to each other securely and reliably. You’ll design and build those connections and help modernize the platform behind them, working closely with product, QA, and fellow engineers. You won’t be doing it alone. At Sharetec, we put people first. Our mission is to make millions of people’s lives easier through the core banking and lending software credit unions and their members rely on. Remote (U.S., excluding California) | Full-time, exempt | $110,000 – $140,000, plus bonus eligibility

What You’ll Do

Design, build, and maintain secure RESTful APIs and third-party integrations, primarily using Go
Partner with product, QA, and other engineers to turn business needs into reliable technical solutions
Guide API design, code reviews, and engineering standards, with attention to security, performance, and maintainability
Help modernize legacy functionality into modular services and improve testing, observability, and delivery practices
Mentor mid-level and junior engineers and support a culture of learning and shared ownership

What You’ll Bring

6+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership on complex backend projects
Strong proficiency in a backend programming language and a willingness to work in Go
Hands-on experience designing, securing, and integrating RESTful APIs and external systems
Experience with database design and performance using relational or document databases
Working knowledge of software architecture, CI/CD, and cloud-based development
Clear communication with both technical and non-technical partners

Nice to Have

Go, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB experience
Microservices, distributed systems, integration hubs, or service bus patterns
Docker and Kubernetes
Financial services or fintech experience, including familiarity with SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks
AI-enabled integrations, including Model Context Protocol (MCP) clients or servers

Who Will Love This Job

Someone who finds more satisfaction in making something better than building something new, and understands why that’s harder
Someone who believes that technology serving people’s financial lives is worth doing with real care and precision
Someone who is energized by a company in motion, where the roadmap is growing and your contributions shape the direction

Why Sharetec Sharetec is part of Evergreen Financial Technology Group (EFTG) and is growing fast, expanding into new markets with modern core and digital tools for credit unions. We take care of our people, professionally and personally. Our benefits include competitive salaries, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage, Flexible Time Off (FTO), paid holidays (including your birthday off!), a $1,000 employee referral program, and a 401(k) with company matching. Whether hybrid or fully remote, we work closely together and stay connected through virtual events, team experiences, and regular all-hands meetings. At Sharetec, you’ll find not just great benefits, but incredible people who lift each other up, challenge each other to grow, and make work meaningful and fun every day. We welcome candidates with different career paths. If your experience lines up with the work, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t check every box. Sharetec is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants without regard to protected characteristics and provide reasonable accommodations during the hiring process.
