Mill Operator

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Operate and adjust 3 pellet mills. Monitor and maintain pellet mill feed rates. Perform roll and die changes using an overhead hoist. Perform quality control testing on finished pellets. Test incoming raw materials and monitor mix moisture content. Assist the Dryer Operator with maintaining pellet moisture between 44.5%. Measure and record pellet durability, fines, volume, and diameter. Perform soak tests and ash testing on raw material and finished pellets. Monitor silo volumes and communicate information to the Dryer Operator. Continuously monitor equipment for malfunctions, hot bearings, fires, and other potential issues. Troubleshoot equipment problems and make necessary adjustments. Maintain a clean work area, including clearing sawdust around the mill room. Assist Packaging, Loader, and Dryer Operators as needed. Complete and verify shift operator reports and daily Shift Summary Reports. Report and monitor incidents, accidents, and maintenance requests. Participate in scheduled repairs, downtime maintenance, and process cleaning. Follow all safety procedures and lead by example with attendance, work ethic, professionalism, and a positive attitude. Perform other duties as assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Previous manufacturing, production, mill, or industrial equipment experience preferred. Working knowledge of production processes. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong technical and analytical abilities. Basic math skills. Ability to obtain company forklift certification. Ability to safely lift up to 80 lbs to approximately waist height. Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours per day. Ability to climb ladders and safely use catwalks up to 30 feet high. Ability to work in high-temperature and high-humidity environments. Ability to work in confined spaces.
