Original job description

Why Sabel Systems

Sabel Systems designs and delivers digital engineering ecosystems for DoD programs, enabling teams to connect data, systems, and personnel within secure, scalable environments. Our solutions empower programs to make faster decisions, close sustainment gaps, and meet the digital acquisition requirements.

Rather than simply proposing transformation, we implement and operate it at scale. Our method is clear: we orchestrate existing tools into a governing system of record, ensuring government ownership of infrastructure and traceable decisions. There’s no vendor lock, no proprietary baselines, and no need for ATO rebuilds during transitions.

Sabel Systems is redefining modern defense acquisition. If you seek to solve complex challenges at scale and want your work to directly accelerate military capability while reshaping the DoD’s approach to digital engineering, this is the place for you.

Complexity Simplified. Mission Amplified.

What You’ll Do

Provide remote technical support, incident, and problem management for Spacestation on the IL5 and IL6 instances, including software support, installation, configuration, error diagnosis, system status, and downtime procedures
Support the PaaS Tech Lead by providing technical context and hands-on execution to the assigned project team and owning defined work items
Collaborate with the PaaS Tech Lead, IaaS-provided personnel, and the Digital Engineering, AI, DevTeam, and CEM teams to support the customer mission
Instrument Spacestation applications, servers, and systems on the IL5 and IL6 instances to pull in telemetry for actionable monitoring data
Build usable dashboards from regular users to executives with actionable data
Build tests for detection of issues to improve platform reliability
Build scripts to load test the platform
Maintain Kubernetes-based CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure as code for the IL5 and IL6 instances
Support of Database and API communication development activities
Prepare technical documentation including standard procedures, reports, research and cost analysis
Coordinate with IaaS-provided personnel on server, network, and application dependencies affecting Spacestation
Assist the PaaS Tech Lead with projects from implementation through testing and production on the IL5 and IL6 instances
Apply security patches, updates, and configuration baselines to Spacestation components in coordination with the ISSM and PaaS Tech Lead
Support Atlassian and other custom applications hosted on Spacestation, including deployment and troubleshooting
Support digital engineering and AI workloads hosted on Spacestation, including data pipeline and model deployment support
Track platform issues and changes in the ticketing system, and escalate to the PaaS Tech Lead when they affect service delivery
Make recommendations to the PaaS Tech Lead on platform changes, priorities, and risks
Address the customer directly as a seasoned team member on technical questions, issues, and solutions
Lead small technical efforts and mentor junior engineers on Spacestation operations
Present technical solutions and recommendations to customers and stakeholders
Lead customer-facing incident response for Spacestation, communicating status and resolution directly to the customer
Coordinate across organizations to solve the most difficult digital thread and AI implementation issues
Must be able to effectively communicate with users at all skill levels and document unique issues and solutions in a support knowledgebase or procedure/policy documents
On-call, and evening or weekend hours will be required as needed for support and maintenance of the IL5 and IL6 instances
