Your responsibilities

- Model short-term power markets dynamics such as forward price curves and (RES/PPA) hedging factors to feed into decision making at the trading desks, incl. algorithmic trading decisions.
- Design, develop, deploy and maintain decision support tools in production environments.
- Contribute to development and improvement of commercial optimization strategies, calibration and position management techniques.
- Provide quantitative ad hoc support.
- Build and maintain relationships with experts across the group, to understand business needs and provide solutions.
Your powerful skills
- Professional experience in a quantitative role in a commodity-trading house, utility or banking environment.
- Advanced degree (e.g. M. Sc. in finance, math, sciences, statistics, engineering or quantitative economics).
- Experience in using numerical methods in a trading environment, ideally convex and mixed integer optimization.
- Coding experience in an object-oriented language (preferably Python or C#).
- Experience in the power markets, ideally with exposure to battery storage, congestion markets, and / or hedging of renewable generating assets.
- Commercially focused, pragmatic attitude to work, strong quantitative background. Excellent communication skills.
- Results-oriented personality.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Advantageous, but not a must
- PhD in finance, math, sciences, statistics, engineering, or quantitative economics.
- First experience with cloud resources and serverless technology.
- Passion, willingness to learn and resilient work ethic.
Our offer
- Join an international leading energy trading house which is in a period of growth and at the forefront of the energy transition in the US.
- Find yourself in a motivating workplace that is built on mutual trust, values and a feedback culture with a positive and inspiring working atmosphere.
- Become a strong expert in the energy renewables trading business.
- Have the opportunity to build up a broad network at all levels and across countries within RWEST.
- Competitive salary plus annual discretionary bonus.
