Original job description

Marketing & Event Sales Support Coordinator

Rusty Rail Brewing Company / Iron & Ivy Full-Time | On-Site | Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania

Part creative storyteller. Part lead-response pro. Completely on top of the details.

The Role

We are looking for someone who can bring our brands to life online and make sure every event inquiry gets the attention it deserves.

You will own the day-to-day social presence for Rusty Rail Brewpub, Rusty Rail Events, and Iron & Ivy while guiding prospective event customers from first contact to a qualified appointment and confirmed handoff.

Lead Response Comes First

Every inquiry deserves a quick, helpful response - day, night, or weekend.

Lead response takes precedence over routine posting, design work, and administrative tasks. We maintain 24/7 initial-response coverage through approved automation and backup arrangements; personal response duties and after-hours coverage are coordinated with management. During staffed hours, the goal is a personal reply within 30 minutes whenever practical.

What You Will Own

  1. Lead Response, Appointment Setting & Follow-Through
  • Monitor designated event inquiries from social media, web forms, email, and other assigned channels. Respond promptly, warmly, and accurately.
  • Ask the right questions: event type, preferred date, approximate guest count, venue needs, and contact details; provide approved information without making unauthorized commitments.
  • Schedule qualified consultations and venue walkthroughs with the correct sales or event department, and confirm the details with both parties.
  • Own follow-up until the inquiry is declined, resolved, or explicitly accepted by a named department.
  • Keep each lead's status, next step, and follow-up date current. No lead gets lost in the shuffle.
  1. Social Media & Content Creation
  • Manage the three social accounts:
  • Rusty Rail Brewpub
  • Rusty Rail Events
  • Iron & Ivy
  • Plan, create, schedule, and publish posts, stories, Reels, photos, and promotional content.
  • Capture authentic on-site content, respond to comments and messages, maintain consistent brand voices, and work with departments to promote what is happening across the property.
  • Keep a practical content calendar, accurate event details, and a steady posting cadence; prioritize incoming sales inquiries over routine social tasks.
  1. Marketing & Team Support
  • Assist with menu layouts and revisions, event flyers, basic website/content updates, promotional graphics, and marketing projects.
  • Spot opportunities, help other departments when available, and complete work accurately without needing constant direction.

The Person We Want

Organized. Motivated. Ready to make things happen.

We need someone who enjoys the creative side of hospitality and gets satisfaction from following through. The right person makes a great first impression, stays calm when things get busy, and knows that details are what turn an interested guest into a booked conversation.

You Will Thrive Here If You Are...

A Genuine Self-Starter

You see what needs doing and act on it. You can independently structure your day, find productive projects, and keep moving without being handed a checklist.

Fast, Friendly & Professional

You write clearly, sound great on the phone, and make customers feel helped - never rushed or brushed off.

Accountable & Dependable

You finish what you start, document your work, own mistakes, and follow through until the handoff is actually complete.

Incredibly Organized

You can juggle inboxes, event dates, follow-ups, content deadlines, and last-minute requests without letting anything disappear.

Creative with Good Instincts

You can turn an ordinary moment into engaging content, have an eye for polished design, and know when to ask for approval.

A Positive Team Player

You work well with the restaurant, brewery, events, and Iron & Ivy teams, willingly pitch in, and genuinely care about Rusty Rail's success.

What Success Looks Like

Lead Response

  • Prompt personal replies during staffed hours.
  • 24/7 initial acknowledgment coverage.
  • No unanswered or overdue inquiries without an owner.

Qualified Appointments

  • Prospects scheduled with the appropriate department.
  • Accurate information and documented, accepted handoffs.

Marketing Execution

  • Strong, consistent content across all three brands.
  • Accurate details and on-time completion of approved projects.

Weekly Accountability

  • A short report of inquiries.
  • Response times.
  • Appointments.
  • Open follow-ups.
  • Confirmed transfers.
  • Published content.

Skills & Working Expectations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong computer and scheduling skills.
  • Comfort with Meta Business Suite, Canva, and basic photo/video editing.
  • Experience with hospitality, events, customer service, CRM tools, or sales support is a plus.

This is an on-site, collaborative position with management-approved work hours and lead-coverage procedures.

Once a receiving department accepts a lead, it owns pricing, proposals, contracts, and closing.
