DESIGNER – LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE

Who We Are

Ruppert Landscape is a leading provider of commercial landscape maintenance and installation services with more than 3,500 employees serving customers from 55+ branches across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeastern US. We take pride in delivering reliable, high-quality services on a wide range of commercial properties and construction projects. For over 50 years, our mission has been to provide opportunities for our people, take care of our customers, and be good stewards of the environment and our community.

Where You Fit In

As a Landscape Designer, you’ll create high-quality enhancement designs for both existing and prospective commercial landscaping clients, working closely with the branch team to prioritize projects where design adds the most value. This role involves visiting sites to understand existing conditions and client needs, then developing and presenting thoughtful, visually compelling design concepts.

Responsibilities:

Develop creative designs that are functional and aesthetically pleasing
Manage design workflow to provide complete proposals before bid deadlines
Communicate with internal team members and external subcontractors regarding pricing and availability of plants, site furnishings, and hard materials to accurately estimate costs and project timelines
Prepare, track, and distribute proposal packages to Area Managers or present directly to clients
Follow up with clients regarding proposal decisions and next steps
Track, revise, and resubmit proposals within established timelines as needed
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to strengthen relationships with team members and branch leadership while aligning with company values, goals, financial objectives, and branch priorities
Complete additional duties or assignments as directed by the Branch Manager

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in design, architecture, or a related degree and/or four years of experience in landscape design and sales; professional certification is a plus
Proficient in hand-drafting, hand-rendering, and computer applications, including landscape design software such as PRO Landscape and DynaSCAPE, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Strong knowledge of landscape construction methods, plant materials, and horticultural practices
Basic understanding of math related to estimating, such as volume, spacing, and factor pricing
Ability to read and interpret landscape plans, specifications, and construction documents
Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and customers
Ability to project a professional image and a positive attitude in all situations
Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills

What We Offer

• Competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications

• Hands-on learning from day one with ongoing opportunities to learn, grow, and build your career

• Paid time off and holidays to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance

• Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, plus flexible spending accounts (FSAs) to help cover healthcare and dependent care expenses

• 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match

• Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with confidential support for personal, financial, and wellness needs

• A people-first, family-oriented culture where teamwork, respect, and growth matter and where your hard work is recognized and appreciated

Why Ruppert

Our success starts with our people. We are committed to creating opportunities for our team members to grow, lead, and build meaningful careers. Through hands-on training, strong mentorship, and a collaborative team environment, we invest in developing talented individuals who take pride in their work and in supporting one another.
