Original job description

At Rowan Digital Infrastructure, we are transforming data center delivery for speed and scale. Our mission is to deliver best-in-class data center solutions to hyperscale customers who share our commitment to sustainability, and to do so with an unwavering focus on efficiency, quality, and flexibility. Our data center solutions are tailored to our customers’ needs and delivered by our exceptional end-to-end team. Rowan is assembling a strategic portfolio of data center sites in Tier 1 markets across the United States at various stages of development, and we’re looking for incredible and passionate people to help us advance our company and our commitment to building a more sustainable future.

Rowan is backed by Quinbrook, a leading investor in the energy transition, and Blackstone, the world’s largest alternative asset manager.

Ready to join us in transforming the future of data centers and sustainability? Apply now to explore exciting career opportunities at Rowan Digital Infrastructure and be a part of our mission to revolutionize data center delivery.

Role Summary

As Rowan’s Business Development (BD) organization grows to handle significantly higher deal volume, this role will help build the infrastructure needed to execute at scale. Business Development Operations & Support (BD-OS) is a BD pillar alongside Customer Development, Commercial Strategy & Negotiation, and Market & Products. Its focus spans program and process management, CRM and customer planning systems, market and customer insights, and cross-functional coordination for live deals and broader BD initiatives.

The Sr. Manager role will help support the BD-OS group by improving Rowan’s existing tools and processes and creating new systems, reporting, and operating routines where needed to give BD and its stakeholders clear visibility into deal and customer status. The role holds primary responsibility for customer-facing planning and reporting, including tracking account status, progress, next steps, and strategic plans across key relationships.

This role supports Rowan's ongoing customer and market intelligence effort gathering the insight that informs site selection, pricing (including market comps), and competitive analysis.
Innovation and creative problem-solving are core to this role. Rowan is scaling faster than its systems, and this role is expected to find new ways not just apply existing ones to create real visibility into deal and customer status at every level of the organization, from individual deal teams up through the board
The role involves a degree of direct customer engagement. BD-OS exists to enable Rowan's success with hyperscale and AI customers, and that requires this leader to build real fluency and credibility with those customers directly, not solely through internal reporting

Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% for company gatherings, quarterly team meetings or project sites.

Location: Denver, CO (3-day hybrid in-office role)/ Open to remote opportunities for exceptional candidates

Compensation: $150K - $180K (Offers Bonus & Other Variables)

Essential Responsibilities

Working closely with peers across BD's other pillars and the team within BD-OS, you will support:

Exceptional program / project management: Workback schedules and timeline discipline on live deals, in support of both Commercial Strategy & Negotiation and Customer Development
AI-Enabled Operations: Strong ability to apply AI and automation to streamline workflows, improve insights, and drive operational efficiency. AI-powered executive communication and decision support. AI-assisted data analysis and reporting. AI workflow automation with Power Automate a plus
CRM & customer planning: Maintain systems that track customer status, progress, next steps, and account strategy, giving the organization an accurate, up-to-date view of every key relationship
Customer & market insight: Gather and synthesize customer and market intelligence including market comparables, pricing benchmarks, competitive analysis to guide site selection, pricing strategy, and Rowan’s broader solutions and positioning
Investment-critical forecasting: Projections and status reporting on deal timing and probability that directly inform Rowan's decisions on at-risk project investment and long lead equipment commitments requiring rigor and discipline given the capital exposure involved
Visibility & systems innovation: Develop trackers, dashboards, and repeatable processes that give everyone from deal teams to the board a clear view of deal and customer status, prioritizing innovative approaches over existing method
Direct customer engagement: A meaningful degree of direct interaction with hyperscale and AI customers, ensuring BD-OS's systems and support are grounded in real customer context, not just internal process
Process improvement & design: Improve BD’s operating rhythm and structure across the function to support business growth and increasing deal volume

What We're Looking For

Direct experience working for or with hyperscale customers, or otherwise deep familiarity with the data center market, this role requires genuine fluency in the context Rowan operates in, not just transferable process skills
Experience with market and competitive intelligence able to translate customer and market signals into inputs that inform site selection, pricing, and positioning
Innovation and creative problem-solving building new approaches to visibility and coordination rather than replicating what's been done elsewhere
Comfort with direct, ongoing customer engagement, not solely internally facing work
Experience with CRM platforms and customer/account reporting structures
Strong judgment on sequencing and prioritization in a fast-scaling environment

Education, Skills, and Experience

Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree a plus
7+ years of experience in business development operations, program/project management, deal management, business development, technical sales, or a related commercial operations role
Strong preference for candidates with direct experience working with or for hyper-scalers, or substantial experience within the data center industry; other capital-intensive infrastructure or real estate development backgrounds considered
Demonstrated experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Smartsheet) and building reporting/dashboard tools
Microsoft products: Exception PowerPoint presentations, Strong CoPilot knowledge, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with substantial experience preparing and delivering materials for senior leadership or board-level audiences

Fueled by Excellence & Collaboration

At Rowan, we are a distributed team united by a common mission to transform data center delivery. Across our two offices, we offer a hybrid work environment supported by teamwork, technology, and in-office gathering time to help you be successful. We are headquartered in downtown Denver, Colorado and have an office in Seattle, Washington. Our team of talented and passionate individuals is spread out across the U.S.

Here to support you

At Rowan, we want to make sure you can do great work. We offer competitive benefits focused on helping you be and achieve your best.

Hybrid working environment
Team building and educational opportunities
Generous benefits package including robust health benefits and a 401(k)-company contribution
Unlimited PTO
RTD ECO pass or parking reimbursement
Competitive compensation, bonus, and an incentive plan
Relocating for this role? We offer relocation assistance on a case-by-case basis to help make your transition smooth

Equal Opportunity Employer

Rowan Digital is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome and celebrate diversity in all aspects of our workforce. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or any other legally protected status. We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
