Machinist

Machinist 📍 Sheldon, IA | Full-Time | Hourly | Monday-Friday Rome Grinding Solutions is seeking a machinist to support efficient production operations and ensure high-quality manufacturing output. This role is critical to meeting organizational goals and requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety and teamwork. No CNC experience required.

Responsibilities:

• Produce quality parts on CNC machines including the lathe and mill
• Perform prescribed preventive maintenance on machines
• Maintain clean equipment and safe work environment
• Follow all prescribed safety regulations; willing to wear all safety gear
• Measure, examine, and test completed parts/units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications
• Read blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations to fabricate products, determine product dimensions and tolerances
• Ability to meet goals, quotas, deadlines
• Manage time, efficiency and performance
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds with assisting tools such as a hoist
• Maintains a safe work environment
• No CNC experience required

Desired Experience:

• Ability to use precision tools; calipers, etc. to take accurate measurements

Challenges:

• Ability to work in an environment that has conditions that change regularly
• Able to stand for long periods of time
