Original job description

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Brighton, MI | $30–$42+/hr | Full-Time | Monday–Friday

We’re looking for Heavy Equipment Mechanics / Technicians for both shop or field service work in Brighton. All experience levels are welcome. If your background is doing PMs, oil changes and basic repairs, there’s room to grow. If you’re already diagnosing electrical and hydraulic issues and tearing into engines, powertrain and major components, they have plenty of work for you too.

The Work This is hands-on equipment service - keeping construction equipment working instead of sitting dead in a customer's yard.

  • Preventive maintenance and inspections
  • Engine and diesel repair
  • Powertrain and drivetrain work
  • Hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs
  • Electrical diagnostics and repair
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and component replacement
  • Install attachments, accessories and aftermarket equipment
  • Welding and fabrication as needed
  • Test and function-check equipment after repairs
  • Document service work and repairs

What Kind of Tech Fits Here?

• Experienced heavy equipment tech? Bring the diagnostic and repair skills you already have.

• Diesel or automotive mechanic looking to make the jump? They’re open to it and will train the right mechanic on the equipment.

• Early-career tech with good mechanical fundamentals? You’re welcome too.

What matters most is that you’re mechanically sharp, willing to learn and take pride in doing the job right.

  • Heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, agricultural, industrial or related experience
  • Mechanical aptitude and good troubleshooting skills
  • Hydraulic and electrical experience is a strong plus
  • Comfortable with hand and power tools
  • Own professional tools
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to work safely around heavy equipment

Shop or Field

  • There are opportunities for both shop or field technicians.
  • Field techs head out in a service truck to keep customer equipment running. No CDL is required to drive the service truck. CDL trucks are available for techs who already have their CDL.
  • When field work slows down, field techs can come back into the shop and stay productive.

Hours & Pay

  • Monday–Friday
  • 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
  • Average 45–50 hours/week
  • Saturdays are occasional, but rare
  • $30–$42+/hr depending on experience and skill level
  • Pay is flexible for the right technician

What You Get

  • This is a long-established equipment operation with steady work, good equipment to work on and room for technicians to develop their skills.
  • You’ll have access to ongoing training, company uniforms, paid time off and holidays, health/dental/vision benefits and a 401(k) with company match.
  • Whether you’re already diagnosing electrical and hydraulic problems or you’re a solid mechanic ready to step into heavy equipment, if you like fixing things and want a place where your skills can grow, let’s talk.
