Original job description

We are looking for a Web Developer to support a non-profit organization through a contract assignment focused on producing and publishing high-quality website content. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong CMS knowledge with a careful eye for presentation, consistency, and usability. The position will help create effective web pages that align with current digital standards and deliver a smooth experience for site visitors.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and update website pages within enterprise content management platforms, using available templates, components, and page-building tools effectively.
  • Transfer and format content from source documents into web pages while preserving styling accuracy, hierarchy, and readability.
  • Review published content closely to correct spacing, typography, links, lists, superscripts, and other formatting details.
  • Remove unnecessary markup or imported code issues that may affect page quality, performance, or display.
  • Place inline images, text links, and other standard page elements in ways that support strong visual flow and usability.
  • Apply sound judgment to page layout and content presentation, making adjustments when text or imagery appears misaligned or inconsistent.
  • Optimize visual assets by selecting appropriate file formats, compression settings, and image treatments for web use.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure content updates meet quality expectations, brand standards, and modern web practices.
  • Hands-on experience working in advanced content management systems such as Optimizely, Drupal, Adobe Experience Cloud, or WordPress.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce web pages with a high level of accuracy and close attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, HTML5, CSS, and core web production practices.
  • Familiarity with digital design fundamentals and an eye for clean, user-friendly page presentation.
  • Understanding of current web standards, including image optimization, file formats, and performance-minded asset handling.
  • Ability to identify and resolve formatting inconsistencies, content display issues, and imported code artifacts.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers, content teams, and other stakeholders.
