We are looking for a Web Content Specialist to support a Contract engagement focused on organizing and publishing digital content for a website based in Arlington, Virginia. In this role, you will help ensure webpages are built accurately, content is presented clearly, and digital assets are transferred and formatted according to established standards. This position is ideal for someone who works carefully with large volumes of web material, follows structured guidance, and communicates effectively when questions or issues arise.
Responsibilities:
- Transfer website materials such as written copy, images, PDF files, announcements, and related assets into the new web environment.
- Build and update pages using approved templates and publishing instructions to maintain a consistent online experience.
- Assign content to the appropriate destinations within the site structure based on the finalized sitemap.
- Add and refine page-level elements including titles, meta descriptions, alternative text, and properly sized images.
- Maintain detailed tracking records that capture progress, content status, and legacy-to-new page relationships for redirect planning.
- Verify completed pages against original sources to confirm accuracy, layout consistency, and functional links.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to clarify content questions, identify missing items, and surface template-related concerns.
- Assist with pre-launch review activities to help confirm content readiness before the updated site goes live.
- Hands-on experience managing website updates through a content management system such as WordPress or a similar CMS.
- Working knowledge of web content management practices, including page publishing, formatting, and asset placement.
- Comfort using spreadsheets or tracking tools to monitor work progress and organize content tasks.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot inconsistencies in formatting, links, and source alignment.
- Ability to work independently while handling repetitive, high-volume assignments with accuracy and efficiency.
- Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to follow established processes and guidelines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members and resolving content issues.
