Transportation Dispatcher

A busy transportation and distribution company is seeking a highly organized Transportation Dispatcher to coordinate daily deliveries, manage driver schedules, and keep shipments moving efficiently. What You’ll Do:

• Coordinate daily driver assignments, delivery schedules, and pickup routes.
• Monitor active shipments and communicate updates to drivers and customers.
• Adjust routes and schedules when delays, cancellations, or last-minute requests arise.
• Communicate with warehouse personnel to confirm orders are ready for dispatch.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery records, and dispatch documentation.
• Coordinate with third-party carriers and freight providers.
• Track delivery completion and investigate missed or delayed stops.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment status and estimated arrival times.
• Assist with reviewing delivery paperwork and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare daily dispatch reports and communicate operational issues to management.
• 1–3 years of dispatch, transportation, logistics, or scheduling experience.
• Familiarity with delivery routing and transportation operations.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with transportation management systems or routing software is a plus.
• Ability to remain organized and make quick decisions in a changing environment.
