Original job description
We are looking for a dependable Test Center Administrator to support a detail-oriented testing environment. This is a long-term contract opportunity with part-time hours, typically around 20 hours per week, and the possibility of additional hours based on site needs. The person in this role will help create a secure, organized, and welcoming experience for exam candidates while adapting to a flexible schedule that may include weekdays, Saturdays, occasional evenings, and possible Sunday coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome test takers, confirm their identification, and guide them through check-in procedures with care.
- Enforce testing rules by completing security screening steps, including the use of monitoring tools when required.
- Observe candidates throughout the exam session to protect testing integrity and respond promptly to concerns or irregular situations.
- Preserve the security of exam materials, workstations, and the overall test center environment at all times.
- Document incidents clearly and escalate exceptions or policy-related issues in a timely manner.
- Support a fair and comfortable experience for each candidate by providing clear directions and maintaining a calm atmosphere.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scanning records, handling basic office support duties, and preparing materials or equipment as needed.
- Move through the testing area regularly, escort candidates when appropriate, and help maintain compliance with operational procedures.
- Contribute to day-to-day site readiness by helping with basic computer or equipment handling, packing, or unpacking when necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional college coursework is helpful.
- At least one year of face-to-face customer service experience in settings such as retail, hospitality, reception, or similar environments is required.
- Must meet the minimum age requirement for the position.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate reports and interact professionally with candidates and team members.
- Comfort using Microsoft Windows and common office applications, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web-based tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be able to stand or remain stationary for extended periods, move throughout the testing room frequently, and lift up to 40 pounds when needed.
- Ability to work a flexible part-time schedule, including Saturday availability and occasional evening or Sunday hours based on site operations.
