We are looking for a dependable Test Center Administrator to support daily operations at a testing site in Chicago, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys customer-facing work, maintains strong attention to detail, and can help create a secure, organized testing environment. The person in this role will welcome candidates, guide them through the check-in process, and oversee testing sessions to help ensure policies are followed. Success in this position requires comfort with computer-based systems, steady mobility throughout the day, and a detail-focused approach to administrative support.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome test takers upon arrival and provide clear instructions to help them move smoothly through the intake process.
- Verify candidate identification and confirm required documentation before admitting individuals to the testing area.
- Perform security screenings to ensure prohibited items such as notes, calculators, or other unauthorized materials are not brought into exams.
- Monitor the testing room at regular intervals by walking through the site frequently to help maintain compliance with testing rules.
- Support the administration of web-based exams for certification, credentialing, and admissions-related testing programs.
- Complete light administrative tasks, including basic office support and accurate handling of testing-related records.
- Use computer applications confidently to manage check-ins, support testing workflows, and address routine system-related needs.
- Maintain a calm, organized environment for candidates while responding appropriately to questions and following established procedures.
- Work within the site schedule, including availability for the center’s operating days on Monday and Saturday.
- At least 1 year of experience in administrative support, front desk coordination, testing services, or a similar office-based role.
- Ability to verify identities carefully and apply security procedures with consistency and professionalism.
- Comfortable using computers and applications in a workplace setting, especially in support of web-based processes.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail to help uphold testing standards and detect policy violations.
- Ability to remain on your feet, move throughout the testing center regularly, and perform frequent walk-throughs during shifts.
- Clear communication skills and a customer-service mindset when assisting candidates in a structured environment.
- Dependability, sound judgment, and the ability to follow established procedures with minimal supervision.
