We are looking for a Technology Asset Management Coordinator I to join a Contract position supporting enterprise technology asset operations in San Ramon, California. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong inventory discipline with hands-on coordination of hardware movement, record accuracy, and system-based asset tracking. The position plays an important part in keeping equipment lifecycle activities organized, compliant, and responsive to business needs across procurement, deployment, returns, and retirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day technology asset activities by updating lifecycle records, maintaining accurate inventory data, and supporting consistent control of hardware from acquisition through disposal.
  • Administer asset information within ServiceNow by processing changes, supporting automated workflows, and reconciling records to reflect current equipment status.
  • Receive incoming IT equipment, document each item through barcode-based tracking, and ensure asset details are entered correctly into system records.
  • Coordinate the shipment and distribution of laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and related accessories to internal teams and end users.
  • Support stock replenishment by preparing purchase order documentation, tracking incoming orders, and helping maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Handle equipment returns from office and field locations, assess reusable devices, and return eligible assets to available inventory.
  • Perform routine audits, cycle counts, and exception reviews to identify discrepancies and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Manage asset-related tickets by documenting work thoroughly, resolving requests promptly, and keeping customers informed throughout the process.
  • Arrange responsible e-waste handling and disposal activities in alignment with company standards and applicable environmental practices.
  • Produce reports covering inventory balances, asset lifecycle performance, and audit results to support operational visibility and decision-making.
  • At least 3 years of experience in technology asset management, IT inventory coordination, logistics, or a similar hardware support environment.
  • At least 3 years of practical experience working in ServiceNow, including use of asset management capabilities for tracking and record maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to support workflow automation, process asset updates accurately, and manage ticket-based requests within a structured system.
  • Experience with receiving hardware, maintaining stock levels, and processing purchase orders for technology equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and comfort managing shared inboxes, work queues, or ticketing platforms.
  • Ability to move and transport equipment weighing up to 35 lbs in office or warehouse settings.
  • High attention to detail, solid organization skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining data accuracy.
  • Effective communication, customer support, and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to learn new tools and adapt to changing processes.
