The position offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of tax matters while helping businesses and individuals navigate compliance, planning, and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the review of tax filings and projections for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Direct complex tax planning initiatives and develop practical structures that align with client goals and regulatory requirements.
- Identify additional advisory opportunities by assessing client needs and recommending value-added tax and accounting services.
- Evaluate and introduce technology-driven improvements that enhance the efficiency of tax preparation and financial compliance workflows.
- Conduct in-depth research on complicated federal and state tax issues and translate findings into clear guidance for clients and internal teams.
- Oversee the review of financial statements and related reporting engagements, including compilations and review-level work.
- Supervise engagement teams by assigning work, coaching staff, and supporting ongoing career development.
- Manage client engagements from planning through completion, serving as the primary point of coordination across deliverables and timelines.
- Advise clients on business and accounting matters, including support in areas that may extend to controller-level guidance.
- Monitor and manage federal, state, and local tax examinations, coordinating responses and representing client interests throughout the audit process.
- 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience, including work with individuals and middle-market business clients.
- Active CPA certification is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once while maintaining strong organization and meeting deadlines.
- High level of accuracy with a consistent focus on detail and quality of work.
- Strong analytical and research capabilities with sound judgment in resolving complex tax matters.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and remain productive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients and internal teams.
- Proficiency with tax and accounting software, including QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel; experience with CCH Axcess, CCH ProSystem fx, or related platforms is a plus.
