Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to support and enhance the employee technology environment for a banking organization in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a hands-on specialist who can manage identity and access platforms, connect core business applications, and keep critical systems operating reliably. The role works closely with IT Engineering, Information Security, and application stakeholders to deliver secure access, strong lifecycle management, and dependable operational support.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and optimize the Okta environment, including identity lifecycle workflows, application access setup, and policy enforcement.
• Configure and maintain integrations across tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Jira, GitHub, Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory.
• Partner with security and application teams to implement identity governance controls and privileged access practices that align with organizational standards.
• Test and verify end-to-end authentication, user provisioning, permissions, and employee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Translate technical and business needs into actionable implementation plans, coordinate dependencies, and complete assigned work within expected timelines.
• Investigate issues spanning connected platforms, identify root causes, and drive incidents through to resolution.
• Support the ongoing health of the environment by managing configuration updates, monitoring integrations, and maintaining appropriate access controls after deployment.
• Create and update technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks covering troubleshooting, routine administration, and user lifecycle activities.
• Prepare transition materials and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for support and engineering teams, including clear ownership and escalation guidance.
• Experience administering identity and access management platforms in an enterprise environment.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Okta, including provisioning, access policies, and lifecycle automation.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory and Azure Active Directory in support of authentication and user management.
• Experience integrating and supporting platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Jira, GitHub, or comparable business applications.
• Familiarity with IAM principles, identity governance, and privileged access management concepts.
• Ability to troubleshoot cross-platform technical issues and manage resolutions in a structured, timely manner.
• Strong documentation skills with experience producing runbooks, support procedures, and implementation records.
