Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support core accounting and tax activities for a Contract position based in California. This permanent, on-site opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage daily accounting tasks with accuracy while contributing to corporate and sales tax processes. The role offers a consistent 8-hour workday schedule and is suited for a detail-oriented candidate seeking long-term stability in a hands-on accounting environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial records.
• Reconcile and manage general ledger accounts, ensuring transactions are properly classified and documented.
• Support the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns in compliance with applicable requirements.
• Handle sales tax reporting activities, including reviewing data for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes by verifying balances and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain organized accounting documentation and support internal reviews or external audit requests as needed.
• Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting role.
• Working knowledge of corporate tax and sales tax processes.
• Ability to prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Familiarity with corporate tax return support and related documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage routine accounting deadlines.
• Comfortable working on-site in California in a permanent contract position.
