Staff Accountant

Robert Half is partnering with a well-established North Bay organization seeking a Staff Accountant for a temporary project expected to last approximately 2-4 months. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end activities, and special projects while working closely with the finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and assist with month-end close activities.
• Perform account reconciliations, analyze variances, and ensure accurate financial records.
• Complete bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
• Support financial reporting, audit preparation, and ongoing process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and provide support across multiple areas of the accounting function.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of accounting experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role.
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Experience supporting special projects, process improvements, or accounting system enhancements is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
