Staff Accountant

A religious organization in Falls Church, VA is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their Finance team!

The ideal candidate is an accounting professional who enjoys both technical accounting work and operational problem-solving. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the Church’s financial records, administering payroll, supporting financial reporting, and helping improve systems and processes that support organizational effectiveness.

• Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting role with hands-on responsibility for core financial processes.
• Strong working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliation.
• Practical experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related accounting functions.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return support activities.
• Ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple deadlines in a detail-focused environment.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and comfort working within a general ledger platform.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a dependable and detail-focused approach.
