Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting activities for a manufacturing organization in Los Angeles, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day general ledger work, contribute to month-end close, and provide reliable financial insight tied to operational performance. The role will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate reporting, strengthen cost visibility, and support ongoing compliance and audit needs.

Responsibilities:

• Record and post journal entries to ensure financial transactions are reflected accurately in the general ledger.
• Complete account reconciliations and help drive timely and accurate month-end closing activities.
• Partner with operations and supply chain teams to address financial questions, reporting needs, and cost-related matters.
• Experience in staff accounting with hands-on responsibility for journal entries and general ledger activity.
• Working knowledge of account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting processes.
• Familiarity with inventory accounting and cost accounting in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to analyze production costs, identify variances, and explain findings clearly.
• Understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return concepts.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and supporting documentation.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional business partners
