Staff Accountant (Banking) | Melville, NY Anna Parson at Robert Half is partnering with a financial services organization in Melville, NY seeking a Staff Accountant with banking or credit union accounting department experience.
As the Staff Accountant, you will:
- Prepare account reconciliations, including daily banking, investment and Federal Reserve account reconciliations
- Support month-end close, general ledger activities, journal entries, and financial reporting
- Research and resolve reconciling items and account discrepancies including fixed assets, prepaids and accruals
- Assist with regulatory and internal reporting requirements
- Maintain accurate financial records and support the Controller with ad hoc requests

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting experience within a bank or credit union

- Strong Excel and account reconciliation skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
