Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing company within the textile industry. This position will work closely with the accounting and operations teams and will be responsible for general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and supporting financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and timely
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing
• Review inventory-related transactions and assist with inventory reconciliations and adjustments
• Support accounting for raw materials, finished goods, freight, and other manufacturing-related costs
• Assist with cost accounting and analysis of product and inventory costs
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation
• Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, and other month-end accounting entries
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting
• Assist with annual audits and provide requested documentation to auditors
• Partner with purchasing, operations, warehouse, and other departments to ensure accurate accounting and documentation
• Maintain organized accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
• Assist with special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience; manufacturing, textile, apparel, distribution, or inventory-based industry experience is a plus
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close
• Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, AP/AR, and financial reporting
• Exposure to inventory and/or cost accounting preferred
• Strong Excel skills and experience working within an ERP or accounting system
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
